Bobby’s vision is a fan led initiative, a small group of committed Ipswich fans who seek to honour Bobby Robson’s vision of football as the sport of the ordinary people.
Many of us are season ticket holders, from long before Gamechanger existed. We all share a love of our club and all want to see football at Portman Road retain an attachment to its traditions and roots as a sport for everyone.
We endorse calls for safe standing, fair pricing and stand in solidarity with supporter groups like Blue Action and the Rainbow Tractors and initiatives like “kick it out”.
We believe live football should be accessible to all, including those unable to afford hospitality type offers that are increasingly the focus of the club.
We are fully independent of the club and do not seek access to or approval of the club. Instead, we seek to speak truth to power in our attempts to be a voice for ordinary legacy/traditional Ipswich fans currently left largely unheard.
We welcome those who support our vision to share our messages and to help amplify our voice, something we feel is not currently done by the official supporters club or the various media outlets.
What is a club?
Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes. It’s the noise the, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.
It’s a small boy climbing up stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at the hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love.
